“The Albanese government is doing the very thing that all my life, I had trenchantly opposed, and in the postwar years, Labor had opposed. And that is, finding our security from Asia rather than our security in Asia.” Paul Keating former prime minister of Australia
Labor is risking war with China and has abandoned aspirations for independent foreign policy. Labor’s Dr Carmen Lawrence is speaking this week at a Public Meeting in Perth “Sleepwalking into War? Breaking the US stranglehold on Australia: Peace or War?” Topics covered are titled below.
Lessons from Gaza
“People are seeing the horror of Gaza, the West Bank and now, Lebanon, with the horrendous impacts upon everyday people, and this must be impacting everyday people in Australia. They see that horror and they see our government not taking a strong stand, but rather falling into line with the US, most recently on that vote in the United Nations, even though it was an abstention and not a veto. It still was falling into line with US interests and the interests of the Zionists, pro-Israel lobby, in Australia.” – IPAN

“A dramatic shift in Australia’s defence and foreign policy – AUKUS – was engineered without Australians’ knowledge or consent” stated Dr Carmen Lawrence, former WA Premier and former Federal MP.
“AUKUS ties Australia more firmly than ever to U.S war fighting posture; we are signing up to the U.S. project aimed at “containing” China and risking engagement in a war over Taiwan”, stated Dr Lawrence.
“Why has Labor abandoned its long-held opposition to nuclear power as well as its previous aspirations for a more independent foreign policy?”, asked Dr Lawrence. Yet the Hawke Labor government supported uranium mining and export in the 1980s and 90s. Australian uranium fueled nuclear power plants in France, Germany, and Japan.
Indonesia has signed a ban on nuclear weapons, why not Australia?

A section of the Labor Party led by Carmen Lawrence and Paul Keating are opposing AUKUS, nuclear submarines and nuclear waste. What happens to our political leaders once they obtain power: Penny Wong – hypocrite, Anthony Albanese – hypocrite
Why do our political leaders give up on campaigning for a just, peaceful and sustainable world?

Countering threats of nuclear war. An Australian Liberal-Country Party government was trying to join the nuclear club in the 1950s. Now a Labor government is doing the same by signing up to AUKUS nuclear submarines and the nuclear waste they will produce.
