Bookshops raided in Jerusalem

Bookshop owners in Jerusalem on the West Bank were arrested by Israeli police and charged with disrupting public order by selling books that represent Palestinian culture and identity. Police raided and confiscated books, including cookbooks, educational and colouring in books for children. Some books were by Israeli writers.

Ironically, at the same time, President Trump compares Israel with the size of his pen. He claimed that it is amazing what Israel has been able to do and that it is down to brainpower. He fails to mention the industrial scale firepower that the United States has gifted to Israel. He followed this up by saying that the ceasefire is unlikely to continue and that the Israelis may as well ‘let all hell break loose’ unless all the Israeli soldiers held prisoner are released by Saturday.
